Deposit an Open Access research output via Elements to the University's Research Repository

UTAS Open Access Procedure supports, but does not require, researchers to publish outputs in Gold Open Access publications, this is because many Gold OA journals require the researcher to pay an article processing charge (APC).

The UTAS Read and Publish agreements allows our researchers to publish open access in OA and subscription journals without paying an APC. Before you publish see if your chosen journal is part of our Read and Publish Agreements  

If you have published in via the Open Access route deposit in Elements is easy.

1. Every OA article has a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) assigned by the OA journal publisher, you will usually find the DOI hyperlink on the OA article PDF.  
2. In Elements Deposit section, copy the OA article's DOI and paste the DOI in the 'Add OA location" tab as indicated below and select 'Save location'.

3. Select the licence from the dropdown menu that has been assigned and appears on the OA article

4. Select Deposit

Once deposited, the Library's OA assessment team reviews publisher copyright and licencing information before making discoverable in the repository.

Deposit a TSBE Discussion Paper (for RePEc) via Elements to the University's Research Repository 

Discussion Papers for RePEc must be deposited in Elements.  Follow the steps in the How to Guide - Add Discussion Paper to Elements (RePEc) and email research.repository@utas.edu.au when you have completed the deposit so Library staff can prepare the Discussion Paper for harvesting to RePEc.
