UTAS Open Access Procedure

All University research outputs must be deposited in the  UTAS Research Repository (previously known as the Open Access Repository (OAR)) via Elements

The University Open Access Procedure outlines the mandatory deposit, timing of deposit and the process to deposit research outputs in Elements for discovery in the University's research repository.

Following the OA Procedure ensures researchers comply with the: Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, Australian Research Council (ARC) Open Access Policy and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Open Access Policy.

How to comply

For Research outputs advice and Elements guides, visit Manage your research outputs (sharepoint.com)

Benefits

  • Visibility - everybody can easily discover your research online
  • Access -  anybody can download and share in accordance with the assigned copyright licence
  • Citation -  visibility and access equals reuse and impact
  • Compliance -  ARC & NHMRC OA policies require research outputs to be as accessible as possible

UTAS Research Repository statistics - known issue update

Very recently we discovered figshare had enabled bots which conflated all the UTAS Research Repository statistics.  The bots’ statistics have now been removed as they skewed individual author item statistics plus repository statistics reported to external organisations. UTAS Research Repository items now reflect human initiated statistics only.

Please email research.repository@utas.edu.au if you need further information.
