Vancouver

There are 2 main Vancouver styles used in citing medical literature. The AMA style is the preferred style for student assessments.

This guide was created for medical students but the examples are relevant to anyone following the AMA style.

If you are publishing, you may be required to use the National Library of Medicine (NLM) style.

Print and electronic copies are available

AMA manual is the style used for submissions to Journal of the American Medical Association. The style may be used by other journals as well.
