A guide for teachers and students

Welcome to UTAS Library

UTAS Library offers a range of services and resources for school students, teachers, teacher librarians and other community members.

School staff and students are welcome to use the library as a study space during our general public access hours, use the print resources in the library, and access some of our online resources via catalogue computers. Due to licensing agreements, off-campus access to online databases and ebooks is restricted to UTAS students and staff.

Members of the community may join the library. School staff and students 18 years and over should choose the General Public category on the application form, whereas students under the age of 18 should select the School Student category, which includes a link to the consent form for a Parent/Guardian/Responsible adult. The consent form should be printed, completed, scanned and then uploaded as an attachment to the application form. The application form is completed and submitted online.

The Library offers a seasonal workshop program for secondary school students, as well as customised tours and information literacy workshops.

Visiting the Library

When visiting the Library:

  • masks are welcome but are not compulsory
  • practise good hand hygiene - hand sanitiser and wipes are available
  • maintain 1.5 metre physical distancing where possible
