Darlinghurst Campus Library Services

The Library’s collection and services have been relocated from the Walter McGrath Library at St Vincent’s Hospital to the Rozelle Campus. From Sem 5 (November 2020), the Darlinghurst Campus will be closed and all students transferred to Rozelle. The St Vincent’s Hospital library will no longer be accessible to UTAS students.

The Rozelle Library has a dedicated UTAS staff member, as well as a larger collection of print books, which can be borrowed for use on campus, or off site.  There is also a large range of silent study and group study areas for use by students at any time during campus operation hours, student PCs, wifi, printing and copying services.

How to find your books

You can find books in both the Rozelle and Darlinghurst collections using the Library catalogue.

Books in the Rozelle Campus Reference Collection are shown with the location Rozelle.

UTAS Library books in the Walter McGrath Library are shown with the location St Vincents.

TIP - always click on the Show more items link to see all of the copies held by the UTAS Library, because copies in Rozelle or St Vincents will be at the end of the alphabetical list of locations.

Flexible Library Services

If a book is not available at your campus, why not use the Flexible Library Service? This service is offered to UTAS staff and students who are living more than 40km from the Launceston and Sandy Bay Campuses during semester.  By using the Flexible Library Service you can:

  • request specific items from the Library catalogue and have them posted to your designated (Semester) address as listed in your eStudentCentre record.  (Please note that you will be responsible for return postage fees.)
  • request articles or extracts from books to be sent as an electronic attachment to your UTAS email
  • ask for help when searching for information

Do you want access to some of the great university libraries in your area?  Join ULANZ!

University Libraries of Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) is a borrowing scheme that allows staff and students of Australian and New Zealand universities to borrow in person from any other participating university library.  The scheme is a cooperative arrangement between CAUL (Council of Australian University Librarians) and CONZUL (Council of New Zealand University Librarians).  About ULANZ

The great news for UTAS students studying at Rozelle or Darlinghurst is that the TUU will reimburse you for your membership fee (up to $55) at ONE library - so you can choose from libraries at USYD, UNSW, UTS, UWS, UOW and Macquarie to name just a few.

For more information, and to download the reimbursement form, go to
