Welcome

Welcome to the Nursing & Midwifery Subject Guide

The library has a range of information resources that will help you with your studies. This guide is designed to help you use all of the different tools for finding information on Nursing & Midwifery in the UTAS Library.

Click on the tabs above to navigate through the guide.  The Contents panel on the left tells you what is under each tab.

Hot topics at the Information Desk

Don't have time to ask at the Desk?  Maybe someone else has already asked your question....

Week 2

CNA227 – Compare and contrast 2 infectious diseases…
Try searching for each disease in MD Consult, Nursing Consult or DynaMed to find information from online reference books, journal articles, practice guidelines, etc.

Week 3

CNA116 - Review 3 journal articles on a topic...
Trying to find journal articles on a topic you don't know much about is hard.  Try doing a little background reading first - check your lecture notes, set text and recommended reading list for any information about the topic.  This will help you to "unpack" what the question is really asking you about.  When you know more about the issues that relate to the topic, you will think of better keywords to use in your search for articles.  When you're ready to search for articles, try the CINAHL database.

Look under the Journals and Referencing tabs on this guide for information on peer reviewed journals and how to reference an article.
